Of Surat, Qld. (Given as his usual place of residence on the marriage certificate. West of Brisbane on the Ballonne River)

Note a witness to Richard William Glode Douglas' death in Banana (Henry's father-in-law) was a Robert Boyle - Sheep Overseer, of Banana - presumably no relation?

From Mary Snelling - "a Henry Boyle was thought to be an overseer on Camboon in the early days , but Iam unable to find any records of it".

Page 193 "In the Maranoa district Commissioner of Crown Lands, Henry Boyle, who had succeeded Whitty at Surat, stated in his annual report for 1855 that the aborigines continued to exhibit those strong feelings of hostility to the white man which had characterised them in former years".

Page 229,. "For the year 1856, Comissioner of Crown Lands, Boyle, at Surat, had transmitted his annual report on the condition of the aboriginies of the Maranoa district...."

Page 256, "Before Boyle's report was recieved by the chief secretary from the chief commissioner of lands, Second Leuitenant Smith had resigned. His resignation was forwarded by Nicol to Wickham on 31st March 1857".

The brands book 1878 has a Sophia C Boyle at Mt.Brisbane Ipswich. Could this be Henry's mother? _ see Henry's daughter named Rosa Sophia. ²⁷⁰

Henry married Rosa Douglas, daughter of Richard William Glode Douglas and Julia Elizabeth Nugent Bree (Norton), on 3 May 1860 in Enfield, NSW.²⁷⁰ (Rosa Douglas was born in 1839 in Derby, England ^6,31,212,270 and died on 26 Nov 1867 ⁹.) The cause of her death was Died in childbirth.
