1881: Richard Gordon and wife Helen/Ellen Crow were living at Cove Village, Cockburnspath, BEW. Agnes and Sophia, their daughters, are with them on census night although the two boys were with their Grandparents George and Sophia Crow.
1881: Richard Gordon was on the boat Renown of Cove when all aboard were lost in the Eyemouth Disaster, he was 32 years of age, married and left 4 children. ⁴³

Richard married Helen CROW, daughter of George Crow and Sophia Miller, on 1 Jan 1873 in Edinburgh, Edinburgh Sct. (Helen CROW was born on 27 Nov 1853 in Foulden Bew Sct ⁴³ and was christened on 1 Jan 1854 in Coldingham Bew Sct ⁴³.)
