1794: Witnesses at the baptism of Helen were John Dewar, Portioner and John Patterson, both of West Reston.
1814: Marriage of James Crow Residentor in West Reston and Helen Liddle daughter of James Liddle Labourer ther having been lawfully proclaimed were this day married.
1841: This census shows James 45 yrs as an Agricultural Labourer with his wife Helen of 43 yrs and daughter Margaret 25 yrs, Margaret was to never marry.
1843: Helen was widowed with James dying 12 Mar 1843 at Coldingham.
1851: Helen is widowed and living at Northfield, Coldingham BEW. Helen is 56 yrs and states she is born at Coldingham. Living with her at that time is daughter Margaret 36 yrs an Agricultural Labourer born at Coldingham; George 25 yrs; James 20 yrs born at Foulden and Isabella 12 yrs born at Edrom, a Scholar.
1876: Helen died. She is the Widow of James Crow, Farm Servant. Helen died 17 Nov 1876 at 2.30 a.m. at the age of 83 yrs. The death certificate states her father is James Liddle (deceased), mother Margaret Liddle m.s. Purves (deceased. Cause of death is Exhaustion consequent on cancerous Cachexia, the duration of this ellness is noted as 2 years. her Doctor was James N. McDougall MD. Her son James was present at her time of death.

Several of the baptisms cannot be found for the Crow children, it is to be remembered that it was 3d to baptize your children around that time which was a great deal of money. No doubt at some point there was a baptism but at this time they are not to be found. The census gives proof that the family is as listed. 43
