General Notes:
At age 18 she gave birth to David Edgar Starr at the Lady Bown Hospital Brisbane. The name of the father is not given. She was staying in a Maternity home Breakfast Creek
In 1904 she married Albert James Harrison (Coach Painter), moved to Melbourne and had a daughter. Within 3 years the couple was divorced. Bertha moved back to Queensland with her children. They took up residence with her brother Thomas Richard Starr in the northwest of the state. It was there that she heard of a vacany for a cook on Waterview Station, Prairie Queensland. She was successful in application for the position and moved there around 1910-11.
She married George Douglas one of the owners of Waterview.
Died as the result of a motor car accident. It is thought that she died instantly. Vi has a hole in her skull as a result of this accident which occurred when she was seven. Vi's grave was dug because it was thought that she would die too.
Copy of her death certificate has been requested from the NSW BDM registry on 16//05. Note her father's name given as Edward!
There was a coroner's inquiry into her death, City Coroner, A. May, 19th December 1928. Found that the cause death was a motor vehicle collision. (see death certificate). 13
