The Mellish is the ship on which the Fitzwaters came to Australia. The photo is in the National Library of Australia

Beryl says "This is the ship in which Thomas Starr came to Australia, on 14th May 1838. (his great grand daughter daughter was Bertha Starr) They were Bounty passengers (ie free) and were sponsored for their trip to Australia. On board were Thomas and Lydia and their 4 children. Thomas lived less than a year after arrival in Australia.

"Sacred to the memory of Richard Reynolds who departed this life on Aug 26th 1837 aged 67 years"

"Sacred to the memory of Thomas Reynolds who departed this life Feb 13th 1818 aged 16 years and 6 months

Also Sarah Reynolds who departed this life November the 30th 1826 aged 50 years.

O cruel death thou would not spare a loving wife, a mother dear, but she is gon, left me in grief and nine children behind the world to try and friends to find."
